Gaborone North (commonly referred to as 'G-North' or 'Gabs North') is characterized by a variety of large mixed-use plots, small holdings and residential developments offering affordable housing. This area was originally laid out as large farm plots some of which have been subdivided to large residential plots and developments. There are, however, still several farm plots in the area and the potential for more to be established. The land in this area is freehold which adds to its popularity.

Gaborone North is easily accessible off the main A1 road, just past the Phakalane area of the City. There are 4 main access roads in to Gabs North from the A1. Most amenities and services for Gabs North are found in the Phakalane area.

Gaborone North has seen a huge amount of development over the last few years. It has become a popular area for people wanting to buy a piece of land and build their own homes - either for personal use or to keep as an investment property and rent out. Because of this, the area is very popular with young professionals looking to get on the property ladder and those with young families who want space for kids to play and explore. There are a wide variety of residential homes in the area ranging from modern mansions to more tradition farmhouse styles.

Gaborone North is adjacent to the main A1 road through Botswana that connects Gaborone to Francistown in the North and connects the City to neighbouring countries.
